In the light of Local law 196, New York City Department of Buildings has established certain laws and regulations regarding construction site safety for workers and supervisors/managers. Sites requiring Construction Site Safety Manager, Coordinator or Superintendent must first complete 40 hours of specific training to obtain their Site Safety Training (SST) card.

In order to get your SST Card you must comply with the following
OSHA 40 is also known as 40 Hour SST. If you already have OSHA 30 and 10 cards you need to take 10 hours of Site Safety Training to get the 40 Hour SST card. The OSHA 10 is not the same as 10 hour SST.
Correct, if you have your OSHA 30 and your card is not older than 4 years, all you have to do is finish your 10 hour SST training to meet the 40 hour requirement.
Correct, even if your background isn’t in construction and you haven’t taken any safety training, you can still sign up for the SST training.
